Terror Train (1980)
97 min.
Directed by Roger Spottiswoode.
With Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben Johnson, Hart Bochner, David Copperfield, Derek MacKinnon, Sandee Currie, Timothy Webber, D. D. Winters (Vanity).
All aboard!

JLC slasher boasts magician David Copperfield, pop crooner Vanity and a killer psycho eluding capture by donning a variety of costume masks...all in the same package!

A group of rowdy college students board a steam locomotive for a New Year's Eve booze and sex-filled party.

But little do they realize a deranged madman with a score to settle from the past also has a ticket to ride.

And he ain't goin' economy.

Will this train arrive at its destination with any passengers alive?

Canadian splatter entry is well directed by Spottiswoode and gives Curtis another excellent chance to shine as scream queen par exemplar, not to mention the supporting cast is a spirited bunch.

Highlights include Jamie's frantic sanctuary in a locked cage whilst the slaughtering loony ponders entry just outside. Screen veteran Ben Johnson is a welcome sight as the train's valiant conductor. Nicely done horror from a benchmark year.

Aka Train of Terror.
