Sondra Locke stars as Marguerite Sterling, a beautiful teenage girl who resides on a large, secluded estate with her possessive mother (Mary Ure) and equally domineering grandmother (Signe Hasso).

Basically shielded from society, Marguerite's only companion is a doll named Aaron, which she claims is real. Her estranged father (Robert Shaw) reappears on the scene to ask for a divorce so that he can wed his mistress (Sally Kellerman).

Marguerite develops a strong love for him...and an obsessive hatred for her mother and grandmother, leading to a terrifying chain of violence and murder that the child insists Aaron is responsible for.

This gripping tale of psychological suspense was not a critical or box-office success when initially released, but has since developed a cult following. A Reflection of Fear benefits tremendously from the skillful direction of acclaimed cinematographer William A. Fraker.

Much of the story's action takes place within the confines of the Sterling estate, but Fraker utilizes the virtually single setting to excellent effect, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere that smothers the audience with dread.

The entire cast performs superbly, particularly a very young Sondra Locke - who has a difficult, demanding role and knocks it right out of the park. The film is capped with a brilliant twist ending that is sure to blow you right out of your seat.
