Razorback (1984)
95 min.
Directed by Russell Mulcahy.
With Gregory Harrison, Arkie Whiteley, Bill Kerr, Judy Morris, Chris Haywood, David Argue, John Ewart, John Howard, Don Smith, Mervyn Drake, Redmond Phillips.
Director Russell Mulcahy became successful by helming several flashy videos for the music group Duran Duran (namely Hungry Like the Wolf).

But as far as horror fans are concerned, he acquitted himself just fine with this decent Australian thriller/monster feature.

In the Outback, an enormous razorback boar has begun terrorizing and killing humans.

But when the big pig offs American TV journalist Beth Winters (Morris) in a grisly way - a poignant and horrific scene - her husband Carl (Harrison) comes a huntin'.

Some surprisingly good special effects and solid direction create a well achieved sense of gritty atmosphere. When seen, the razorback is a fairly scary beast!

The outcome? Razorback is truly a good little monster sleeper and worth seeking out.

Not bad.
