House on the Edge of the Park (1981)
91 min.
Directed by Ruggero Deodato.
With David Hess, Annie Belle, John Morghen, Lorraine DeSelle, Christain Borromeo.
Grim, sadistic story from Italian director Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust).

Two men (notorious bad boys David Hess of Wes Craven's Last House on the Left and John Morghen of Umberto Lenzi's Cannibal Ferox) disrupt an upscale dinner party by raping and torturing everyone there.

The generally unconvincing story has a twist too ridiculous to believe. (It's revealed that Hess had raped and killed the sister of one of the guests, and he and his friend have been lured to the party for retribution.)

Why, oh why, would the guests allow themselves to be sexually assaulted, beaten, and slashed before doing away with the men is beyond us!

The outrageously unbelievable dubbing only makes matters worse (or better, depending on your frame of mind).

Stellar example: the sophisticated bald black woman at the party exclaims at one point, "hot diggity!"

Huzzah?
