From Beyond (1986)
86 min.
Directed by Stuart Gordon.
With Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Ken Foree, Carolyn Purdy-Gordon, Ted Sorel, Bunny Summers.
Worthy Lovecraftian follow-up to Re-animator.

This has Combs as a scientist who - along with doctor Crampton and policeman Foree - must revisit his mentor's experiments that reveal a fourth dimension in which the pineal gland becomes an extrasensory pleasure organ.

Trades in the blood and guts of Gordon's previous film for gooey, slimy mutations.

Not quite as successful as its predecessor, but is surprisingly intelligent while being much fun.

Barbara Crampton is a hands-down terrific scream queen, and Bunny Summers is hilarious in a small role as a Nosy Parker neighbor.
