The Dorm that Dripped Blood (1981)
85 min.
Directed by Jeffrey Obrow and Stephen Carpenter.
With Laurie Lapinski, Stephen Saks, David Snow, Pamela Holland, Dennis Ely, Daphne Zuniga.
Also known as Pranks, this low budget slasher has as its strongest feature a good atmospheric setting.

Several students stay at the Morning Meadows University Co-op during their Christmas vacation to clear the place out before its planned demolition.

But soon, a ruthless killer begins eliminating them one by one.

Don't look for Daphne Zuniga too long or hard in her film debut here (a better place to do that would be in 1983's The Initiation); the poor gal gets bumped off fairly early.

Only real downer to this one is a fairly manipulative (and out-of-left-field) ending which tends to diminish any strong moments this one had created.

Still, the plain Lipinski emerges as a decent heroine and Sachs seems to enjoy his turn as the psychotic slasher.

By the way, does anyone smell something...odd?...
