Death Ship (1980)
91 min.
Directed by Alvin Rakoff.
With George Kennedy, Richard Crenna, Sally Anne Howes, Nick Manusco, Kate Reid, Victoria Burgoyne.
Underrated and eerie little film about a large cruise liner which sinks after being hit by a Nazi interrogation ship; the hapless survivors are then terrorized aboard said ghost ship.

There are some fun moments to be had; George Kennedy is a ham as the captain who becomes possessed by the vessel's dark spirit.

First mate Crenna is on hand here and delivers a reliable, enjoyable performance.

A mildly atmospheric enterprise that delivers the goods effectively and simply.

No surprise this is exactly the kind of weaker horror often sarcastically maligned by armchair critics. Ignore them, give this a shot and decide for yourself.
