Blood from the Mummy's Tomb (1971)
92 min.
Directed by Seth Holt.
With Andrew Keir, Valerie Leon, James Villiers, Hugh Burden, George Couloris.
Pleasing, if standard, Hammer fare starring exceptional beauty Valerie Leon.

A group of archaeologists unearth the tomb of an ancient Egyptian queen known for her malevolence. At that same moment, a baby girl is born to the wife of one of the leaders of the excavation team. As the men begin to die in gruesome fashion, one by one, it would appear the evil queen has placed a curse upon them all for desecrating her grave!

Well done all around, but with nothing we haven't necessarily seen before. Still, Leon is stunning to watch and the overall atmosphere is heartfelt enough to warrant a perfect Sunday afternoon viewing. Based on Bram Stoker's novel Jewel of Seven Stars, this was set to star Peter Cushing who bowed out of the production shortly after shooting commenced.
