And Soon the Darkness (1970)
99 min.
Directed by Robert Fuest.
With Pamela Franklin, Michele Dotrice, Sandor Eles, John Nettleton, Claude Bertrand, Hana Maria Pravda, Jean Carmet, Clare Kelly, John Franklyn.
Two young girls biking through pastoral France on holiday.

When her friend goes missing, the remaining girl (Franklin) begins an investigation around her strange and hostile environment.

A lean, mean cast of only 7 heads this one up, with delightful-to-watch Franklin leading the pack.

Slow pacing that is now to be cherished, excellent performances, realistic scenarios. The dizzying sun-drenched French countryside only contributes to the atmosphere of alienation.

Superbly subtle and effective thriller.
