The Abominable Snowman (1957)
91 min.
Directed by Val Guest.
With Forrest Tucker, Peter Cushing, Richard Wattis, Maureen Connell, Robert Brown.
Excellent Hammer entry centers around botanist Cushing, who joins a hiking expedition in the Himalayas with the goal of discovering the ancient Yeti.

As members of the excursion begin dying one by one, Cushing theorizes that the snowmen creatures are possibly not primitive organisms, but rather more advanced than humans in some regards and potentially possess the skill of mind manipulation.

When the climax occurs, Cushing's own internal metamorphosis provides a stimulating twist. Beautifully filmed in crisp black & white and boasting an intelligent script and straightforward cast, this atmospheric gem succeeds on all levels as one of the few films devoted to that mythical snow monster, the Yeti.

Also known as The Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas.
